LAYC Nation, our ever-growing alumni network, is the result of over 50 years of connecting like-minded individuals with a deep passion for supporting the youth and families of DC and Maryland.

What Makes Our “Nation” 

Way back in 1968, Latin American Youth Center first embarked on our mission of helping youth make a successful transition to adulthood. Since that moment, thousands of people committed to serving the youth and families of DC and Maryland have joined in performing acts of service, both big and small. Whatever the size of the act, the intuition to serve our community unites us.

Same as the youth who enter our doors, members of LAYC Nation represent a beautiful tapestry of diversity. We have seen staff, students, and board members from around the world advance programs and shape roles, fulfilling the goals set out in their academic formation or possibly predicting a future path.

After their time at LAYC, the remarkable people of the LAYC Nation have gone on to do amazing things like become leading experts in their field, launch small businesses, bloom into successful artists, flourish as world travelers, and even run kindred organizations around the country.  You can find examples in our Alumni Spotlight below!

We Need You 

Whether you were/are an employee, staff, or board member who advanced our mission or a youth or partner who benefitted from such support, you know the true meaning and impact of our work. This means you also know current and future generations will face challenges similar to those you witnessed and even some newer, unfamiliar ones. For this reason, LAYC needs to lean on the collective spirit, knowledge, and experience of our alumni to enrich our efforts to support youth and families in DC and Maryland.
